Foundation Phase
Grades R, 1, 2 and 3
Cresta College offers a comprehensive programme which teaches foundational skills, concepts and knowledge that are the starting point for the rest of their school career.
We embrace each child as unique and different and further develop their cognitive, social and motor skills. At this phase the learn more about how things work by taking part in practical activities relevant to their developmental stage.
Each child will learn about themselves and form relationships with other children and adults. They will develop self-esteem and personal moral values.
Our team honours every child
as a unique individual, who brings their specific skills, knowledge,
developing dispositions, urges and cultural heritage. We nurture a
culture if kindness, love and respect for others, enabling children to learn in
a physically and emotionally safe place.
Teachers develop trust and
form reciprocal and responsive relationships with open, honest
communication, by listening, acknowledging and appreciating children, families
and colleagues.
Through research and
planning we create inviting, stimulating and innovative environments where
sustainable practices and thinking are fostered. The teaching team share a
passion for inspiring young minds through our dedication to excellence in
teaching. We believe life is a learning journey and are committed to
ongoing reflection, evaluation, self review and professional development.
